Did you know that we can offer testing for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) ? This 10-skill test covers many of the skills that your furry companion will learn in our training classes and once they pass, not only will everyone else know what a good doggo you have, but your pup will be on the course for many other certifications available to dogs. The Canine Good Citizen test is the first stop for many goals such as being a therapy dog and more!
This program helps create well-mannered dogs and a great partnership between you and your pup. This program is open to all purebred and mixed breed dogs at all ages!
What will we be evaluating your dog on during the CGC?
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Out for a walk (loose on lead)
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit and down on cue, and stay in place
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation
